OUR TEAM

Owner & Founder
Master Juggler of Tasks & People
Eric Favreau
Eric turned his passion for green building and passive house construction to start Spindrift Carpentry. He ensures his team and his building processes reflect the core values of sustainable building.

Lead Carpenter
Jon
Jon has worked in construction since 1988 and loves the variety that each day brings on a job site. He has also worked as a Project Manager but found he prefers to be working with his hands in the field. The best part of his current job is the crew.

Lead Carpenter
Dale
Dale has been a carpenter for a very long time and he really likes his crew. Dale is a former volunteer with Portland Trails and helped build the trail system at Fore River Sanctuary.

Carpenter
Kiyona
Kiyona entered the trades in 2019, working first at Warren Construction Group, then Maine Passive House, until she joined the Spindrift team in 2022. Outside of work, Kiyona teaches introductory carpentry workshops with We Built This in an effort to help diversify the trades. She loves to ski, craft, and snuggle with her cats. Kiyona’s favorite part of her job is working with her hands and the days when the crew enjoys bagels during morning break.

Carpenter
Johnny
Johnny has been in construction “officially” for four years and enjoyed working in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Brunswick, Maine before joining Spindrift. He learned how to build decks and small structures growing up on Maine’s islands and lakes. Johnny’s favorite part of construction is working outside. When he is not working, you will find him surfing, skiing, and mountain biking.

Carpenter
Hannah
Hannah loves the satisfaction of looking at a completed project and saying, “I helped make that!”. At Spindrift, she appreciates learning from knowledgeable people, practicing new skills, and the variety in each daily experience. Prior to working at Spindrift, Hannah was on the maintenance crew at Pine Island Camp doing repair, maintenance, and upgrades to the building roofs, decks, siding, etc. Hannah also enjoys camping, kayaking, hiking and baking bread.

Lead Carpenter
Murphy
Murphy has worked as a carpenter in the Portland area for the last decade and has been involved in numerous high-end residential renovations and new builds. His favorite part of his current job is the well organized and friendly work environment and having the opportunity to build some very interesting, high performing homes. When asked what motivates Murphy to do this type of work, he responds quickly by saying, “It’s gratifying to work with my hands and to see the amount of progress that can be made with one day of work. It also helps to have kind coworkers!” Murphy likes to spend his time mountain biking, sailing, camping, hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, and building saunas.

Carpenter
Brody
Brody joined Spindrift Carpentry in early 2024. He is motivated to work in the field of construction because he enjoys problem solving as challenges come up and the opportunity to learn something new every day. Brody loves working outside, being part of a team, and occasionally torturing that team with mediocre dad jokes. Some of Brody’s favorite activities include collecting records (particularly afrobeat, soul, and reggae), hiking, running, reading, and spending time with his young son Ollie.

Project Manager
April
April joined Spindrift Carpentry in June 2022 and works on projects that require administrative work, on-site job coordination, and advance orders. She helps clients select finishes and coordinates the construction schedule, inspections, and vendor contracts. April also works as a property manager for commercial properties and values her gig with the Spindrift crew because they are a group of genuine, kind people that take pride in their work. She loves to play in her flower gardens and always has a home renovation project in the works. She spends as much time as possible on Little Sebago Lake.

Carpenter
Dave
David is a carpenter who has joined Spindrift through past shared work with G.L. Todd Construction. He has a background as a marine technician and arborist. David has also spent his life in the arts, primarily music, writing, and photography. He is a sailor and record collector. Music is a guiding force in his life, but he is still learning to whistle at work.

Carpenter
Emily
Bio coming.

Project Manager & Carpenter
Erik
Erik West joined Spindrift Carpentry in 2024 after running Capable Hands Carpentry for 8 years. He has a diverse background in sustainability education, having taught and run programs for the Greater Portland Council of Governments since 1999. His favorite part about working with Spindrift is the navigation of changing circumstances during the more complex projects and guiding clients through the process. When not working, he can be found adventuring by bicycle, motorcycle, or van… wherever the road calls.
